Magickal altar hangings are a charged artwork to display around your sacred space.
Despite its controversial connotation, The Sacred Swazi has been displayed across many different cultures throughout history with very positive intentions. The Jain Swazi is representative of the 4 states of existence- infinite knowledge, perception, happiness and energy. The Navajo Swazi comes from the whirling logs creation myth. The Hindu Swazi is said to represent Kali. In many cultures it represents the sun, the elements or seasons and prosperity.
This beautiful imagery and representation have been bastardized by a historical travesty and deserves its multicultural reclamation through acknowledgement, education, respect and appreciation.
For this reason, my intention behind this Sacred Swazi piece is enlightenment through alternative perspective. Wisdom cannot be gained with a closed mind. Take into consideration what you would like to accomplish or manifest and open yourself to any alternative perspectives there might be in terms of which path to follow.
This piece features yellow silk, a hand painted symbol of the four directions or seasons and a silver pendant. This piece is made from deer bones, raccoon skull and beaver teeth. All bones acquired ethically and cleaned by the earth- no chemicals involved.
Raccoon medicine aids in intelligence, resourcefulness, creativity, adaptability and shape shifting.
Beaver medicine is all about taking alternative routes to push through challenges, forward momentum, building and vigilance.
Deer medicine aids in acute awareness of your surroundings, intuition and movement through life with grace.
