As a left hand path practitioner, she explained that sometimes she goes into other realms unprotected, knowing the risks involved. Pushing through to make contact with entities or other dimensions that she wouldn't otherwise be exposed to if she stayed in her comfortable, protected space. Yes, it's dangerous. She doesn't recommend it. But, the joke seemed to be received well with other left hand practitioners and psychonauts that have similar practice.
